An amortisation schedule shows how each loan repayment is split between paying off the principal (the loan amount) and paying interest. In the early years of a loan, most of each payment goes to interest. Over time, the proportion shifts toward principal. LoanLens shows this as both an interactive chart and a year-by-year table you can scroll through.
